From the belt-driven 300Tdi to the latest Ingenium, Land Rover has fitted wildly different engines across the Defender, Discovery, and Freelander lines. We recondition all of them — and we understand exactly where each generation goes wrong.
Working Defenders deserve engines built for abuse. We recondition the 200Tdi and 300Tdi with fresh belts, tensioners, and refurbished injection pumps, rebuild Td5 units with attention to head gasket and injector loom weaknesses, and restore the 2.4 and 2.2 TDCi Puma engines that power later trucks. Whatever your Defender runs, we can return it to full working strength.
The 2.7 TDV6 in the Discovery 3 is infamous for snapped crankshafts, while the 3.0 TDV6 and SDV6 in later cars wear their crank bearings. Our Discovery diesel rebuilds tackle these failures at the source — reground or replacement cranks, uprated bearings, and new oil pumps — so the fault that killed your engine doesn't return in its replacement.
Freelander 1 owners know the Td4's turbo and EGR troubles; Freelander 2 brought the tougher 2.2 diesel; and the Discovery Sport introduced the 2.0 Ingenium with its early timing chain and oil dilution issues. We rebuild all three families with corrected components, giving these everyday workhorses a second life that outlasts the first.

Collection and redelivery are available nationwide by enclosed transporter, and Defender, Discovery, and Freelander owners near Grays are always welcome to visit and inspect our work in person.

INSIDE OUR RECONDITIONING BAY Every core is stripped to the last bolt, chemically cleaned, and crack-tested before assessment. Machining happens on-site: blocks bored and honed, cranks ground and polished, heads pressure-checked and resurfaced.
Assembly uses new bearings, rings, gaskets, seals, and drive components throughout, torqued to specification and logged — so your paperwork shows precisely what was renewed and measured.
Plenty of suppliers post you an engine and wish you luck. We'd rather fit it ourselves — mating it to your gearbox, renewing tired ancillaries, bleeding and coding the systems, then road-testing under load.
When you drive away, the whole installation carries our warranty, not just the block.
