VERIFIED FEEDBACK
What Range Rover Sport SVR Owners Say About Our Engine Work
Real reviews from Range Rover Sport SVR owners whose engines we have rebuilt, repaired or replaced at our Grays workshop.
“Chain rattle on my 2016 SVR turned into a full GEN1 rebuild with uprated tensioners and forged pistons. The car made more power afterwards than it did new. Exceptional attention to detail.”

“They collected my SVR from Manchester, rebuilt the engine with upgraded internals and a smaller pulley, and delivered it back inside three weeks. Communication throughout was faultless. Worth the journey south.”
Priya M.
Sport SVR 575
“Supercharger bearing whine and coolant loss on a 70,000-mile car. Full top-end refresh, new crossover pipes and a rebuilt blower. It's silent, tight and savage again. Proper specialists.”

DETAIL OVERVIEW
The AJ133: JLR's Most Charismatic Powerplant
Every Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by the 5.0-litre AJ133 supercharged V8 — 550PS in the original 2015–2017 car, rising to 575PS with the 2018 facelift. An Eaton twin-vortex supercharger, cross-plane crank and that unmistakable exhaust note make it one of the most celebrated engines JLR has ever built.
It is also an engine that demands respect. GEN1 units are known for timing chain and tensioner wear, supercharger nose-cone bearing noise and coolant crossover pipe leaks buried deep in the vee. The GEN2 revision brought improved tensioners, updated chains and detail changes to the block and supercharger — meaningfully stronger, though not immune.
For SVR owners, an engine failure presents an opportunity as much as a problem. A rebuild is the ideal moment to specify forged pistons, uprated rods and bearings, revised GEN2-specification tensioners and supercharger work — creating an engine that's more durable than factory and ready for further tuning if you want it.
Performance Division
Specialist Care for a Very Special V8
From preventative chain work to fully forged performance builds, every SVR service below is delivered in-house by supercharged V8 specialists.

SVR ENGINE EXPERTSBEYOND STANDARD: SPECIFYING A FORGED BUILD
A factory-specification rebuild returns your engine to new. A performance build goes further: forged pistons and connecting rods, uprated bearings, ARP fasteners and balanced rotating assemblies create headroom the standard bottom end never had. Add supercharger pulley and cooling upgrades, and outputs comfortably beyond 600PS become sustainable rather than risky.
Every performance build is specified around your intentions — fast road, occasional track days or full tuning programmes. We document compression ratios, clearances and torque figures throughout assembly, then verify the result under load before handover. You receive an engine built for your use case, not a generic off-the-shelf remanufacture.
WHY SERIOUS SVR OWNERS TRAVEL TO OUR GRAYS WORKSHOP
The SVR occupies a niche most garages see once a year, if ever. We build AJ133 engines constantly, which means we stock GEN1 and GEN2 units, hold the special tooling, and know from experience which revised components genuinely last. That depth is why owners send cars to us from across the country.
Distance is no obstacle: we arrange enclosed collection nationwide, provide photographic updates at every build stage, and deliver your finished car back with a full documentation pack. Whether you need a standard rebuild or a forged showpiece, your SVR is handled by people who understand exactly what it is.
